Demonstration in Washington D.C., June 7th, 2006


On June 7, 2006, some three hundred Assyrians from around the country arrived to Washington, D.C. to protest human rights abuses and unfair treatment by the KDP and Barazani and the failure of the Iraqi government to recognize the true representatives of the ChaldoAssyrians in Iraq elected by the people in the 2005 elections. the protestors were holding banners emphasizing the mistreatment of Assyrians at the hands of KDP and Barazani and a skewed foreign policy by the Bush administration. The protest began at the Iraqi Embassy and ended at the Capital Hill.
